Rev. Mike Erhonyota Launches Book On Spiritual Warfare
By Daniel Dafe
Pastor, God’s Life Gospel Mission, Abraka, Delta State, Reverend Mike Erhonyota, has launched his first book.
The launch of the book titled: ‘Understanding Christian Warfare and its Applicable Weapon’ took place at the church hall on Sunday.
Dignitaries that graced the event include, Chairman, Chief Sunday Emese, Chairperson, Dcns (Mrs.) Oghenekevwe Uyokpeyi, Father of the Day, Reverend Edward Arhonure (Shepherd, God’s Life Gospel Mission, Eku, Headquarters.) represented by Rev. Edward Onomakpome.
Others are Senior Pastor, Church of God Mission, Abraka Zonal Headquarters, Abraka, Rev. ObakpolO Evans, Guest of Honour, Pst (Prof.) Mary Agbogidi and Pastor Emmanuel Okpako.
The guest speaker, Rev. Matthew Ideh, who read from Daniel 9:1-2 and I Timothy 4:13, urged Christians to be readers.
Journalists spoke to Rev. Evans, Chief Emese and Rev. Onomakpome during the auspicious occasion.
Reverend Evans said that his relationship with the author is that of two friends and also a father and son bond.
He described the book as wonderful.
In his words: “I have gone through it. It is ok and his philosophy about what he wrote about is complete and it is in line with the scriptures.”
He wished the author more success in life and ministry, adding that he must write more books, while lamenting the poor reading culture of Nigerians.
“These days we prefer to hear than to read and that is why many of us are not encouraged to write. You write and nobody is reading. We don’t read. Even if you give them as a gift they are not going to open it,” he noted.
On his part, Deacon Emese described the author as a nice man, adding that the cleric has been doing the work of God for a long time.
About the book, he said: “From the title of the book “Warfare,” what I know and understand from the word warfare in Christendom is that it is a fight or war engaged against the devil. So we appreciate him for bringing all this together to enlighten us the more.”

He urged Erhonyota to do more, saying: “We are expecting him to write more books.”
Meanwhile, Rev. Onomakpome said the crowd that graced the event shows that “the man of God is a man of the people.”
“He carries crowd and without doubt he is a man to rely on. In the mission, he is a man that we can call on at anytime to represent us on any assignment,” he said.
He advised Rev. Erhonyota not to relent but continue to write more books to draw men to the Word of God.
Responding to questions from journalists, Rev. Erhonyota said the book will serve as an eye opener to Christians so they can know what tools they can use to conquer satan and his agents.
He said he was motivated to write because “many believers are moving from place to place seeking for solutions to their problems whereas the solution is right there at their door step.”
Continuing, the cleric said that “as you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you follow him, and then you know what he has recommended for use to fight your warfare. You don’t need to go here and there looking for prophesy or prophets that will tell you to bring cutlass or other items. No! There are tools that God has provided for you to use and get your victory.”
“I am happy that I have written and launched my first book. I have more books that will be coming on the line but I feel this one should be formally launched to open way for others,” he said.
