Delta To Hold Monthly Environmental Sanitation Saturday

The monthly environmental sanitation exercise for the month of July in Delta State will hold on Saturday, July 30, 2022, between the hours of 7.00 am and 10.00 am.
This was contained in a statement by the Delta State Ministry of Information signed by Theresa Adiabua Oliko.
“During the period of the exercise, there will be restrictions on the movement of persons and vehicles,” the statement said.
According to the statement, “the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu enjoined residents to use the period to fumigate their premises, cut overgrown weeds, desilt drainages and keep their environment clean to prevent unwanted diseases.”

Adding: ‘The Honourable Commissioner in the Ministry of Environment, staff of the Ministry of Environment, Environmental Taskforce and other relevant authorities will monitor the clean-up exercise.
“The Delta State Waste Management Board, local government councils and other relevant authorities are to evacuate the resultant refuse to approved government dump sites.
“Those found not taking part in the sanitation exercise will be brought before mobile magistrate courts and fined accordingly.”
