Archbishop Of Benue, Aba Emerges New Methodist Prelate
Most Reverend Oliver Aba has been elected the new Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, taking over from the outgoing Prelate, Dr Samuel Kanu-Uche, The Punch reports.
The church’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Very Rev Oladapo Daramola, confirmed the development on Sunday.
Daramola added that Very Rev Nkechi Nwosu was elected as the first female Bishop.

The election took place on Saturday at the Methodist Cathedral of Unity, Abuja, venue of the 48th and 13th Biennial Conference of the church with the theme “Prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ” which was presided over by the outgoing Prelate.
The church’s leadership is expected to speak on the election and translation of Bishops soonest.
Until his election, Aba was the Archbishop of Benue and had been in the service of the church for over 30 years.
