Cultists Didn’t Burn Down Ubulu-Uku Police Station, Fire Incidence, Due To Electrical Fault –PPRO

The Delta State Police Command has debunked reports that said the police station in Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha-South Local Government of the state was on Sunday set ablaze by suspected cultists.

The reports also said some suspects were released from the cell.

According to the said report, a leader of a cult group in Ubulu-Uku was detained in the station and some of his members, who were not happy with his detention, stormed the station, released him and others before setting the station on fire.

Debunking the news in a chat with Oasis Magazine on Monday, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said: “There was an electrical fault in the DO’s office last night that triggered that fire incidence and the damage was minimal because it was only the DO’s office that caused that fire. That is what I know about the incident.”

According to him, cultists did not burn the station, adding: “Nothing like that; nothing even close to it.”

Asked if any cultist was forcefully released from cell as stated in the report, he said: “None that I am aware of.”
