Okowa Celebrates Ohanaeze President, Obiozor At 80
Governor of Delta and Vice-Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa has congratulated President General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Professor George Obiozor as he clocked 80 years on Monday.
Okowa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, said Nigeria benefited immensely from Obiozor’s unblemished services to the nation, including as Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs; High Commissioner to Cyprus; Nigerian Ambassador to the State of Israel; and Nigerian Ambassador to the United States.
He described the octogenerian as an accomplished and erudite scholar, renowned author and seasoned diplomat, an epitome of selflessness and statesmanship and prayed that God would raise more persons in Obiozor’s mould in Nigeria’s political and socio-economic firmament.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I felicitate with you, Professor George Obiozor, on your 80th birth anniversary.
“As a great patriot and elder statesman, you have made significant contributions to the growth and stability of our nation through your selfless service to the country and humanity.
“As President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, you have displayed an uncommon wisdom and irrepressible courage in your service to the Igbo nation.
“As you celebrate your 80th birth anniversary, I join your family, friends, well-wishers and Ndigbos worldwide to thank Almighty God for your life and to pray that He continues to bless you with robust health, greater wisdom, guidance, protection and enduring provisions,” Okowa stated.
