OPINION: Peter Obi Is An Accident

I don’t fear being misunderstood and criticized. That only confirms the validity of my position, a lot of the time.

Make no mistake about it, Peter Obi is not prepared to lead Nigeria in 2023. He doesn’t have all it takes yet and will likely not have that before end of the elections. Obi is only an accident. What is happening is that Nigerians saw themselves about to be swindled again. Forced to choose between two crooks (Tinubu and Atiku), Nigerians would rather take anyone else. Peter Obi is Nigerians’ way of saying no to Tinubu and Atiku (PDP and APC scam).

It is inevitable that when you push the people to the wall, they will eventually resist. How come that in the whole of Nigeria, it would be Tinubu and Atiku, two grossly incompetent and highly unsuitable men, that must be chosen to be president? That is forcing a false choice on Nigerians. The people had to reject that. The Obidient movement is the people’s rightful rejection of Tinubu and Atiku. What is happening is that Nigerians are using Peter Obi as their way of rejecting Tinubu and Atiku, and not that Peter Obi is using Nigerians to defeat Tinubu and Atiku.

But that is what it is. Otherwise, Peter Obi is an accident that occurred when a former PDP Vice Presidential candidate was edged out of the PDP primaries in 2022. The fact, however, remains that Peter Obi and the Obidient movement, as positively disruptive as they have been, continue to lack what it will take to lead Nigeria in any predictable coherent path. My fear is that the revolution they are starting will end up an unfinished story, a halfway land of purgatory.
