Ethiope East CAN Visits Education Commissioner, Chief Sunday

The Honourable Commissioner for Primary Education, Delta state, Hon Chief Onoriode Eromedoghene Sunday on Tuesday received the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ethiope East Chapter in his office, Ministry of Basic and Primary Education, Asaba.

CAN Ethiope East Chapter thanked the Honourable Commissioner for his contributions and support to the body of Christ most especially in their recent program of which they are making plans to come and thank him, when the news of his appointment as honourable commissioner heated the air.

The group said: “To us as a body, we are not surprised by your appointment by His Excellency, Governor Okowa. You are well known in Ethiope East and Delta state politics and you are always on ground with the people. We are so convinced that this office will open door for more as we look forward and trusting God for another bigger office at the federal level, Abuja, come 2023.”

Hon Chief Onoriode Sunday thanked the CAN, Ethiope East Chapter for coming, saying I was not expecting this appointment.

Adding: “So it got me amazed seeing a lot of people both far and near, rejoicing and sending their congratulatory messages and good will messages. I did not know people are taking note of my political service and social activities this far. I truly appreciate and cherish everyone support in the journey.”

“We are now living in an era where fear and lack of trust is the order of the day. The society has turned to something else as a lot of vices and abnormalities seem to be the order of the day. Hence, your service is highly needed. Your prayers and programs should tailor towards rehabilitating the society,” he said.

The Honourable Commissioner emphasised on the importance of CAN as a body to be active in politics, saying “it is only government that can bring meaningful development to the society not individual because there is a limit to which an individual can do for the society”.

“When you are involved, you will be a voice, bring in your input and “drive home” the needed development to the body of CAN, he opined.

Hon Chief Sunday Eromedoghene Onoriode urged the CAN body to see the AtikuOkowa and Sheriff project as their project.
