2023: Why All PDP Members Should Work For The Party
2023: Why All PDP Members Should Work For The Party
By Sylvester Imonina
There is an adage that says, “to give a monkey glass of wine nor be problem but na to collect the glass from the monkey be the problem”. Also, you cannot destroy your home and expect comfort/shelter from another’s home.
Last weekend, I was surprised to hear that some aggrieved PDP members in some quarters were still expressing their grievances over the outcome of primaries that took place during the second quarter of last year! While I concede to the fact that it is their inalienable right to express their grievances; rightly or wrongly, their interest should not be made to supercede the interest of the party.
In every political family, there are bound to be disagreements, but the wise knows when to ceasefire on issues that are unhealthy for the good and well-being of the Party.
From my experience, it is a political suicide for anyone to think of working against the Party and/or defecting to the opposition Party. Anyone doing in order to satisfy his ego will be doing that at his own risk. I said so because if by chance, the opposition is given a lifeline anywhere in the State, whatever benefits/political booties that accrue to the opposition will not be given to those still spoiling for political war in PDP. Rather, the spoiler will be considered by the opposition as third-class members.
It is worthy of note that correcting damages done in the heat of passion is always a herculean task. It is therefore an unwise decision to join forces with the opposition with the intention of bringing down what you laboured for (PDP)!
Political interest no matter what, can be settled if not now but in the future. I, therefore appeal to those still expressing any form of grievances against an individual or group of individuals within the party to sheath their sword. Every dog will surely have its own day.
LET US MAKE PDP GREAT AGAIN FOR THE GOOD OF DELTANS/NIGERIANS.
