Oborevwori: Ibori Not Against My Candidature
The gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) in Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, yesterday stated that the former State Governor, James Ibori, is not opposed to his candidature in the upcoming poll.
The incumbent Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Oborevwori, stated this yesterday in Asaba during a media interaction with pressmen at the secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta State chapter.
It would be recalled that there has been no endorsement of the PDP guber candidate by James Ibori despite the endorsement of immediate former Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, and incumbent, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Oborevwori expressed confidence of having the endorsement of Ibori following several claims that do not support his candidature.
He pledged to serve all Deltans irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation, saying that “whether you are in Urhobo, Itsekiri, Anioma, Ijaw; we are Deltans.”
According to Oborevwori, “Chief James Ibori is a father to all, he has us at heart and he is a core PDP man.”
He also rubbished claims by the opposition of his inability to attract meaningful infrastructure development in his community.
