Why Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Should Vote Oboro For House Of Reps Feb 25

Right Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq. is humbly and respectfully seeking the mandate of the good people of Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency to represent them at the House of Representatives in Nigeria. She believe strongly that for one to do a good job, a clear vision of what the future holds must first be well articulated; and how to successfully get things done for the common good of all can then follow in that order.
This brilliant, innovative and consumable POLITICAL SUBMARINE knows what it takes to represent the three (3) local government areas (Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie) in Delta state at the Green Chambers. She represents an era of Servant-House of Representives; truly responsible to the yearnings and aspirations of the people in the district and service to our dear country, Nigeria.
Oboro was born into the noble family of Late Chief Oboro in Effurun, Uvwie Kingdom, Delta State on 24th December, 1971; she is blessed with children and grand children.
She began her educational career through Alegbo Primary School to the famous and prestigious Our Ladies High School, Effurun. She however completed secondary education at Alegbo Secondary School, Effurun where she obtained the West
African School Certificate (WASC).

In quest for higher education, Evelyn proceeded to College of Education, Warri and clinched the National Certificate in Education (NCE). And in the same token, enrolled thereafter into Delta State
University, Abraka; where she studied Business Administration and Education, and subsequently bagged double honours degree, second class upper division in Business Administration and Education
(BSc.Ed).
With clear cut vision in mind to occupy an enviable position in the future, Evelyn knew that more sound education is required to make a difference. She decided to add another degree to her collections; this time a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Delta State University,
Abraka.
Evelyn later studied Law at DELSU, Oleh Campus and finished in 2009; and after passing her Bar Part Il examination at the Nigerian Law School, she was called to the Nigerian Bar by the Body of Benchers in 2011. And in 2017, Evelyn bagged yet
another Law degree, this time Masters of Law (LL.M) from same citadel of learning – Delta State University, Abraka.
She started her student activism and political career early in life, way back in School; and was elected First Female Vice President, Student Union Government, College of Education, Warri and served in
that capacity from 1990-1991.
A house built on top of a hill cannot be hidden. She became outstanding as a student union leader and was subsequently elected Financial Director, Student Union Government, Delta State University,
in 1996. She grew the finances of Student Union like never before and served without blemish. No mismanagement of funds during her tenure as Director of Finance.
Rt. Hon Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq., was a notable member of the Grassroot Democratic Movement (GDM). She was a state Ex-official member of GDM and foundation member of PDP. She was elected as only PDP Councilor in Uvwie Local Government Council and became the Minority Leader of Uvwie Legislative Arm as the only PDP councilor as at then. She served from 1999 to 2002.
As Councillor under PDP in Uvwie, she gave good account of herself as an upcoming political Amazon, got involved in massive grassroots mobilization for the party and played significant roles in ensuring
that dividend of democracy at the grassroots got to her people through empowerment of Youths, Men and Women in her locality. She worked extensively with party leaders and party faithful in
Uvwie LGA to grow the party.
Done with her tenure as Councillor in Uvwie, Evelyn was elevated by the then Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe lbori, and was appointed as Special Assistant on Women Development. Thereafter, she came back to Uvwie to seek the mandate of her people for the office of Chairman, Uvwie Local Government Council and got elected into that office under PDP in 2004. She
successfully completed her tenure in 2007.
AS Uvwie Local Government Council Chairman, Evelyn made fundamental and progressive landmarks as the first female LGC Chairman that introduced monthly financial allowances for Uvwie Monarch,
Some leaders (men and women) as well as selected senior citizens domiciled in the Local Government Area. Her predecessors sustained her legacy and that singular act of kindness and other good governance strides endeared her to the hearts of the good people of Uvwie, home and abroad.
She later served meritoriously as first member of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). She also served as first member, Delta State Primary Education Board (SPEB); first member on the Board of
Delta State Waste Management in 2010; and moved to a higher political office in 2011 as she was elected as Member representing Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency at the House of
Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja. She was again re-elected for a second term in 2015.
Being a shining light at the National Assembly, a good ambassador of the women folk, empowerment and human capacity development guru, bold and beautiful; a woman of substance, she contested the Delta Central Senatorial primary election under PDP where she won overwhelmingly and emerged as the party’s candidate for the 2019 general election.
In February 2020, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa appointed her as Special Adviser on DESOPADEC Matters where she served until June 2021 and thereafter was appointed Commissioner for Water Resources Development, Delta State. A position she holds till she resigned to contest the PDP House of Representives Primary election where she won overwhelmingly to becomes House of Representives candidate of the party for Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency.
She is deeply engrossed in humanitarian services, a philanthropist of no mean repute and founder of the Evelyn Oboro Foundation; a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to the consistent empowerment of women, youths, the elderly, widows, orphans and children in Delta State and
beyond.
If voted for she will take with her to the green chamber of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, all the Agenda suggested by the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency through the relevant authorities.
She will consult widely from time to time, especially our Royal Fathers, Party Leaders, Community Leaders, various groups within the federal constituency, devoid of party affiliations and sentiments; to identify the problems and or needs of the good people of Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Local Government Areas and to work very hard to achieve set out goals for Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency
Oboro will add her voice consistently to the agitation for the immediate restructuring of Nigeria; with specific focus and progressive emphasis on the infrastructure development and economic empowerment of Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency as an oil and gas producing district. This is key in her Agenda so as to make Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency and Urhobo Nation an economic hub of the nation.
She will champion aggressive and result oriented agitation, negotiation and legislative actions for the revamping and rebranding of Sapele Sea Port.
It is her unrepentant desire to see to it that the above viable but mouribond port bounces back to full operations so as to generate thousands of jobs for our teeming unemployed young graduates, skilled and unskilled labourers. It is by so doing that Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency can gradually and steadily take her rightful position in the scheme of things in Nigeria.
Rt. Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq. will initiate a sustainable process for the establishment of Small Scale Industries, especially local production factories in different parts of Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency as a better alternative to white-colar jobs that are hardly available. This is possible through robust interface between the banking/financial sectors and investors and by sponsoring Bills aimed at addressing the issue of low taxation and tax holidays to encourage investors doing business in Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency.
To achieve this noble objective, she shall consult widely with our Royal fathers and community leaders to provide free land where necessary; for the establishment of local factories and industries as a means of encouraging and promoting rural development and economic growth in Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency from 2023-2027, referred to as her “Special Tenure,”
To solidly support the educational system in Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency by awarding bursary and full scholarship to genuine indigent students and to also provide free educational materials within her financial capacity to youths and school children of Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency from time to time.
Oboro belong to the school of thought that says “education is the best legacy” to bequeath our children. Therefore, education will remain an important Agenda as you elect her to the green chamber of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, come 25th February, 2023.
She will ensure adequate budgetary provisions for the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, in yearly national budget; and to ensure that adequate infrastructural development are put in place consistently.
Evelyn will ensure adequate allocation of developmental projects and adequate funding of Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency in the yearly budget of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and in other relevant agencies for the socioeconomic benefit of her people and the district.
She will give timely report of federal constituency projects allowances from time to time; and plan with traditional rulers, community leaders, women and youths on what the funds should be used for. There shall be no “one man show” during her tenure as your Servant-House of Representives member.
As part of her style, she will ensure that some of our youths and women undergo special skills acquisition and business management programmes with take-off grants plus equipment and starter packs. These kind of projects will make our youths to became self employed and bread winners for their immediate families. This is the true meaning of Prosperity for all Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituents.
It is with the above Agenda in mind, that we plead with you to give her your mandate to move Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency and Urhobo Nation forward this 2023 to 2027.
