INEC Suspends Adamawa REC, Orders Administrative Secretary To Take Charge

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has suspended the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in Adamawa State, Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari.
I’m a.letter to Ari dated April 17, 2023 and signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Ariaran-Anthony, the Commission ordered Ari to stay away from IMEC’s office in the state immediately until further notice.

“The Administrative Secretary has been directed to take full charge of INEC, Adamawa State with immediate effect,” the letter added.
The said directive follows the embarrassment caused the Commission after Ari on Sunday declared the guber candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of the election while collation was still ongoing.
