Oghara Residents Protest Against Poor Electricity Supply
Aggrived citizens in Oghara, Delta State are currently staging a peaceful protest against long hours of darkness occasioned by poor electricity supply and high bills by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).
The protesters armed with placards bearing different inscription on irregular supply of power to their areas accused management of the electricity firm of crippling their businesses and subjecting them to attacks by hoodlums, particularly in the night.
The protesters who converged at the Chief James Ibori roundabout in Ogharefe are matching through some major roads in Oghara are heading towards the office of the BEDC at Apapa where they will lodge their complaints.

The people were fed up with irregular power supply and high electricity bill BEDC gives them.
They accused management of the firm of disrupting the business of artisans saying throwing their neighbourhood to darkness also increases anti-social activities in their area.
The people were compelled to take to the streets to show dissatisfaction with the poor service being provided by the electricity firm.
Despite the poor supply of electricity BEDC is fond of generating high fixed bills even where there was nothing to show for the huge sums of money they paid as bills every month.
