Ologbotsere Title: Ginuwa I Ruling House Backs Olu Of Warri

Members and leaders of the Ginuwa I Ruling House of Warri kingdom has said that they are in support of the moves made by the Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, to bring peace to the kingdom as regarding the Ologbotsere title.

They said the Olu reserved the right to confer any of such titles on any credible, competent and distinguished personality in and outside the Warri Kingdom, adding that the discretionary power of the Olu is not shared with any person or authority in any guise.

They also said that the Olu’s reserved power is also exercisable to derobe and validate any title earlier conferred on an individual.

The Ginuwa ruling house made this known in a communique issued at the end of a meeting held on Monday 24th April 2023 and signed by Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh, Prince Isaac Dorsu, and Prince (Barr) Wilson Alatsha, Chairman, Secretary and Public Relations Officer/Spokesman respectively.

They noted that the Ginuwa I Ruling House is responsible for the nomination of a most qualified, competent suitable candidate for the position of Olu of Warri in any event of a vacancy.

According to the communique, “The Ginuwa I Ruling House is very well pleased with the OLU of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, in all his steps to bring about unity to the WARRI Kingdom in all his endeavours, one of such is the resolution of all communal crisis within Itsekiri Communities which has brought about an unpresedent peace amongst our people.

“The Ginuwa I Ruling House wholeheartedly commends the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, on the conferment of the distinguished Title of Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom on one of the most outstanding personalities in Warri Kingdom, Chief Oma Eyewuoma, being a member of the Ologbotsere Eyinmisan descendants. This is a demonstration of a unique foresight.

They congratulated the new Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom on his conferment of one of the most geriatric titles in the kingdom by the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, and further advised the Ologbotsere not to see himself as rival to the Olu as was the unfortunate development some time in history as such is an aberration and anachronistic to loyalty, peace and stability in the Kingdom.

“The Ologbotsere should see his position as first amongst equal with other chiefs. The Ologbotsere should wholeheartedly support the Olu of Warri in his drive for a peaceful co-existence amongst Itsekiri people and her neighbours by giving quality, genuine advice and supporting commitment absolutely legal to His Majesty’s desire for a prosperous people,” the communique stated further.

At the meeting also, the following appointments were made by the Ginuwa I Ruling House of Warri kingdom‬ with Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh presiding and Elder Lucky Ebaje as Secretary;
