JUST IN: PSG Suspends Messi
Paris Saint-Germain has suspended forward, Lionel Messi with immediate effect.
According to RMC Sport, the suspension is valid for the next two weeks.
The suspension means the 35-year-old will miss the club’s games against Troyes and Ajaccio.
Messi, whose contract with PSG expires at the end of this season, would only be available for three more games in Ligue 1.
The French giants reportedly wielded the big stick following Messi’s trip to Saudi Arabia this week which was not approved by the club.
The Argentine has been in decent form for the table toppers, scoring 15 goals and registering 15 assists in 28 Ligue 1 games.
Reports say Messi’s side is waiting on the official communication from PSG in order to clarify the situation.
