NUJ Delta Commences Membership Screening In Warri

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council has commenced membership screening/verification and registration of Associate Members at the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel press centre.
The screening which commenced on Tuesday 20th June, 2023, with Isoko, Ughelli and Sapele Chapels, will continue on Wednesday with DBS Warri, Field Information and Warri Correspondents’ Chapels.
At the meeting of the State Working Committee of NUJ before the commencement of screening, the State Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu charged every member to conduct him or herself in the best ethical manner for the exercise.
He said the Council was poised to do what was right in order to bequeath a clean membership record, devoid of quacks to the union.

The Chairman assured all and sundry of the strictness of the Committee in ensuring that the academic documents of Members are well interrogated, including letters of employment and evidence of CAC registration especially from those of the online media, which is now accepted by the Constitution of NUJ.
Meanwhile, in a fresh notice to Members, the Secretary of the Council, Comrade Patrick Ochei urged screening Members and prospective Associate Members to appear before the SWC with their original credentials for sighting, including photocopies which must be submitted in a rubber file.
He however, advised them to adhere strictly to the instruction to avoid being denied screening.
After the Warri Axis exercise, the Committee will move back to Asaba where Ika, NTA Asaba, DBS Asaba, Truth, Pointer, Delta State Ministry of Information, Federal Ministry of Information, Indigenous and Asaba Correspondents’ Chapels will be screened at the NUJ Press Centre along Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba.
