DESOPADEC II” Ensure Dev. Projects In Uduophori, Odorubu Communities, Says Ovbije

The Honourable commissioner representing Ughelli North, East Ethiope and the Urhobo people in Patani LGA, on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Sylvester Ovbije has said that DESOPADEC will ensure that there would be a developmental project in Uduophori and Odorubu communities.

Hon. Sylvester Ovbije stated this on Saturday at Udouphori in Patani LGA, Delta State when he visited the former Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Godspower Osiughwu Omafuvwe as part of his familiarization tour to inform Hon. Osiughwu of his appointment as DESOPADEC Commissioner representing Ughelli North, Ethiope East and the Urhobos in Patani LGA respectively.

However, Hon. Sylvester Ovbije who was received by the people of both communities with his entourage commended the turn out of the people.

Addressing the Urhobo people in Patani, the DESOPADEC commissioner said, “l am here today with my entourage to come and visit you as one of the leaders of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Patani LGA, and you are from the community of my mandate area, l embark on this visit so as to ensure proper service delivery to the people of my mandate areas.”

Continuing, he said: “l also embarked on this visit to seek for your blessing and your prayers in order to carry out my duty perfectly as DESOPADEC commissioner., Hon. Sylvester Ovbije added.

While praying for success for the DESOPADEC commissioner, Hon. Osiughwu Godspower Omafuvwe who was also former PDP chairman in Patani LGA, commended Hon. Ovbije for the move to visit the leaders and other people in his mandate areas.

According to him, “you have started well because, other past DESOPADEC commissioners have not been doing this, but for you to have this idea you will excel.”

Adding: “But you have to carry the people of your mandate areas along in the scheme of things in performing your duty. Hon. Osiughwu stated.

However, the President General of Uduophori community, chief Thank-God Ado who spoke on behalf of the people of the community assured Hon. Ovbije of the community support and called on him to ensure he attracts DESOPADEC project to both communities for more development.

Therefore, chief Mrs. Philo Omafuvwe, the present serving councillors of ward 15 and 16, Hon Okoro Oghenevwegba and Hon. Prince Oniovoghare, Mrs. Doris Ejenavi, Hon. Williams Akpibere, Special Adviser on Political and Communication to the DESOPADEC commissioner, comrade Innocent Ighohwemu, the councilorship hopeful of Patani ward 16, Mr. Diffre. O. Maxwell, and many other PDP faithful too numerous to mention also witnessed the familiarization tour of the DESOPADEC commissioner which was described as a welcome development.
