Warri: Truck Crushes Man To Death In Wife's Presence, Front Of Residence

Tragedy occured as a heavy duty 12 tyre truck crushed a middle aged man to death in presence of his wife and in front of their residence in a building owned by a late retired Urhobo born 5 star Nigerian Army General along Deco Road, Warri on Wednesday evening, 11th October, 2023.

It was gathered that the man and his wife were returning from an outing from Okumagba Estate axis of the road and were in the process of crossing to their residence located opposite the bypass after alighting from a commercial tricycle ( keke ) when the back tyres of the ill-fated crushed the man to death.

The driver was said to be negotiating the bypass when the left side of the back tyres hit and climbed the man , smashing his head and upper region of his body to pieces in the process

The wife of the diseased was said to have crossed over the road to their residence before the bizzare incident occurred

It was indeed a gory site as the smashed head and upper region of the man were trapped between the left side of the back tyres of the heavy duty truck.

The said back tyres had to be lifted up with a giant jack before the pieces of the dead man could be brought out of the tyres.

The wife of the man was said to have immediately fainted when she saw the gory sight and that the little children of the man were prevented from seeing the badly mangoed lifeless body of their father under the heavy duty truck.

The Police Public Relations Officer (;PPRO ), Delta Police Command, Asaba, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the unfortunate incident.

When our correspondent arrived the scene of the accident, residents were seen discussing the matter in a painful mood.
