The rationale behind this sanitary exercise, according to the MD, was to ensure that no out of date medications were found within the health facility so as to curtail the administration of harmful and toxic drugs to patients, adding that this would also aid in the restoration of the hospital’s lost reputation.
The destruction of the expired drugs was conducted on Friday, 3rd November, 2023, in the very presence of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) as well as the Special Adviser on Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs to Governor Hyacinth Alia, Hon. Fidelis Unongo, amongst others.
