Federal University Of Lafia Introduces 3rd Semester For Spill Over Students

The Senate of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has introduced a third semester into the academic calendar of the University.

The introduction of the third semester is intended to give final year students, who are unable to graduate as a result of spillover course(s), the opportunity to register and write examinations on the failed course(s).

The approval of the Senate for introduction of the new semester was announced at the 74th Regular Meeting of Senate held on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

The information on the commencement of the new semester was contained in a statement dated January 2, 2024, signed on behalf of the Registrar by the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mr Farouk Ahmed Nasslea, and titled “Conduct of the 3rd Semester 2022/2023 Academic Session Lectures and Examinations.”

The third-semester academic calendar for spillover students is as follows:

Resumption and commencement of the third semester 2022/2023.

Registration: Monday, January 8, 2024.

Registration and lectures commence on Monday, January 8 – Friday, January 19, 2024.

Conduct of Examinations: Monday, January 22 – 26, 2024.

The payment schedule for the third semester is as follows:

Registration Fee: Ten Thousand (N10,000.00) only while the fee per course will be five thousand (N5,000.00) only.

Students are to note that the third semester is meant for spillover students only and who are required to register for a maximum of six (6) carry-over courses.

Consequently, all affected faculties are kindly requested to notify the affected students, as well as make necessary arrangements for the conduct of the third semester within the stipulated time frame.
