Soludo Should Appreciate Us On Peaceful Land Dispute Settlement – Onuora

A prominent indigene of Umunakwa – Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nze Francis Onuora has called on Governor Charles Soludo to appreciate Umunakwa – Oraifite community and Umuosikpana – Akwu – Ukwu Community in Idemili Local Government Area for the peaceful settlement of more than half a century land dispute between the two neighbouring communities.

Onuora who is a Senior Special Assistant ( SSA) to Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori on Non indigenes Affairs, made the call in an exclusive media chat with our correspondent in Warri at the weekend.

He explained that the call was necessitated by the need for other communities with such disputes to emulate the peace initiative of Umunakwa – Oraifite and Umuosikpana – Akwu – Ukwu (his maternal Community) .

Onuora stressed that Governor Soludo should appreciate the said communities because according to him, government were often involved in settlements of such disputes with government security agents and that in the process people sometimes lost their lives.

” Therefore Governor Charles Soludo should appreciate us with something good for others embrioded in such disputes to emulate, ” he added.

Onuora who is Chairman emeritus of Umunakwa – Oraifite had earlier disclosed that the land dispute had gotten to the Supreme Court before it was peacefully resolved and celebrated in funfare by both communities on the 1st of January, 2024.

He disclosed also that the Obi of Oraifite Kingdom, HRH Igwe Daniel Udoji, Anumanu Ezeigbo 111 and Anambra State Commissioner For Culture, Entertainment And Tourism Comdrade Donatus Onyenji ( who hails from Umuosikpana in Akwu-Ukwu Community ) were among eminent personalities from both communities that graced the historic event.
