FG’s Approval Of Lagos To Calabar Coastal Highway Excites Ibori, As Ex-Governor Praises Tinubu
By Daniel Dafe
Following the approval of the construction of the Lagos-Port Harcourt-Calabar Coastal Superhighway by the Federal Executive Council, presided by President Bola Tinubu, former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, has hailed the move, saying it exemplifies President Tinubu’s courage and determination for the development of the Niger Delta.
Recall that this decision emerged as one of the key outcomes from the recent FEC meeting, as detailed by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Ibori, who took to his X official handle on Tuesday, wrote: “Mr President, I want to applaud your courage and determination for the development of the Niger Delta region as exemplified by the Federal Executive Council’s approval of the construction of Lagos-Port Harcourt-Calabar Coastal Superhighway.”

He recalled how as governors, they deliberated on the need for the construction of the Coastal road during a meeting of South West and South-South governors which he said Tinubu hosted in Marina as Lagos state governor in 2001.
He added: “This project will enhance interconnectivity and boost the economy of the coastal states.”
