GKS ALUMNI  CELEBRATES PROF. BRATTE RETIREMENT

God’s Kingdom Society (GKS), Delta State University, Abraka branch Alumni, has held a retirement party where they poured encomiums on Professor Lawrence Bratte, who recently retired as a lecturer from the services of Delta State University, Abraka

The glamorous event which took place at the GKS service hall, Agbara – Urhoka was attended by church ministers, academia, alumni and many others.

The oldest Alumni, Bro Edirin Iyara took turns to eulogise him, with many describing him as a seasoned and distinguished lecturer who impacted lives and the society effectively over time.

Reading the citation, Prof. Emuh Fidelis highlighted his significant contributions to the field of academia as well as his invaluable impact on the lives of his students and colleagues.

He acknowledged the celebrant’s dedication, exemplary leadership, and commitment to excellence while in service.

Bro. Unusotame Okiemute acknowledged Professor Bratte’s commitment to the work of God and his remarkable ability to inspire young minds, mentorship for GKS youths who have passed
through the branch to develop leadership and officiating skills, recounting how the Brother motivated him into intellectual giants that he his today.

In his remarks, Professor Lawrence Bratte was full of gratitude to the rank and file of the alumni for the love, support and kind words showered on him.

High point of the event was the presentation of gifts for his meritorious services to humanity and work of God

Dignitaries at the event included General Secretary of GKS, Bro Benedict T. Hart, Min Andrew E. Ekireghwo, Min Oghenetejiri Uwejeyan, Bro Edirin Iyara, Bro Daniel Ineneji (Govt House, Asaba) Bro Dr Atuyota Uchefe Bro ( Pharm) Ese Okpaka and many others.

Born on 10th November, 1953 at Warri, Delta State into the family of Late Pa. Eric. W. Bratte, and Mama Alice O. Bratte, he started his Primary Education
in Ibadan, and ended in Sapele in 1967 and Secondary Education from 1969 – 1973 in Edo College, Benin-City, Nigeria.

Publications. He has many local and international publications.
He retired from the services of the Delta State University on 10th November 2023, after over 40 years
in service.

In Church Activities
he became conscious of the GKS at the Feast of
Tabernacles of 1965 in Sapele. Has been a member since then, by God’s grace he has
Taken part on many church activities as a youth, and at
various stages of his life, all by the grace of God.

He is currently the Chairman, Abraka Branch, by God’s
grace
He has, by the grace of God, and with many other
members of the Administrative Committee of the
branch

He has mentored many GKS youths who have passed
through the branch to develop leadership and
officiating skills. With God’s help, and with approval of the Executive Board and the GKS Laity.

He administers several
WhatsApp platforms for the benefit of GKS members.
This include
GKS Job-Link, GKS Market-Place,
GKS Marriage-Link, GKS-Music, and
GKS-Sermons

He is married to Sister (Dr.) Judith Bratte, Nee Eyankwaire, and the marriage is blessed with two Children, Sister Varodonvwen Owueka and Bro. AboOghene Bratte, both of whom have relocated to the UK.
