Essi College Old Students Celebrate Life And Times Of Ozako

Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area was in a festive mood as members of the prestigious Essi College Old Students Association, old students of other students and guests from far and wide celebrated the life and times of the principal emeritus of the famous Essi College, Warri, Rev. Canon Paul Emezaviano Ozako in a very colourful way last week.

The auditorium of Ebenezer Anglican Church, Ozoro was filled to capacity with old students of numerous secondary schools tutored by Rev Canon Ozako and university colleagues of the late renowned educationist as they extolled his virtues.

But it was members of Essi College Old Students Association that were outing both at the church service and reception at the premises of Isoko North Local Government Council Secretariat.

Members of Essi College Old Students Association led by its Worldwide President, Chief Syvelster Bighoro (JP) sang and danced to the praises of late Rev Canon Ozako who they said was the success story of their educational foundation and indeed Essi College Warri.

Chief Bighoro who spoke with our correspondent, was moved to suggest that Rev Canon Ozako should be given a posthumous national award for his immense contributions to the development of education in Nigeria.

A distinguished member of the association, High Chief Fidelis Agbiki, a lawyer and a pioneer student of Essi College Warri, spoke in the same vein as he urged secondary schools principals in their alma mater coming after Rev Canon Ozako to emulate him so that they can also be honoured and remembered for good.

Agbiki explained that the secret behind the potency of Essi College Old Students Association was its leadership as he gave kudos to Chief Bighoro for making the association outstanding so far.

Olorogun Jacob Diejemahor, former Delta State Commissiner for Justice and Attorney General, High Chief Victor Otomiewo, former commissioner in Delta State, Brother Love Ojakovo were among other distinguished members of Essi College Old Students Association spotted at the event.
