Policemen Who Torture Suspects Are Archaic, Unprofessional –FPRO

The Nigerian Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that only archaic and unprofessional policemen torture suspects.
Adejobi said this while respondimg to a post on X on Thursday.
According to him, with principles of interview and interrogation a policeman will get facts from a suspect.
“Torture is barbaric and unacceptable. We uphold the rule of law and defend peoples rights. Personally, I hate brutality, assault, let alone torture to extract confession and facts,” he opined.

He called on Nigerians to report any torture case.
“We condemn it, and we have been training our officers to desist from it. Anti torture Act 2017 has formed part of our training manual and the curriculum,” he added.
“Why should you torture a suspect?” he quizzed.
