Minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has said Emirates Airlines was set to resume flight operations to Nigeria.
Keyamo who disclosed this in a post on X on Thursday, wrote: “Yesterday, I paid a working visit to the Ambassador of the UAE to Nigeria, His Excellency, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi at the UAE Embassy in Abuja.”
Continuing, he said: “He handed me a correspondence from the Emirates Airline indicating a definite date of their resumption of flights to Nigeria.”
According to him, “That date will be formally announced by Emirates Airlines in a matter of days.”

Recall that Emirates suspended flight operations to Nigeria in 2022 over its inability to repatriate its revenue in US dollars trapped in the country but the federal government, through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had released bulk of the trapped funds thereby paving the way for the return of the airlines.
