The Unuevworo of Uvwie Kingdom, High Chief Hope Akasa (JP) has lauded Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori over the choice of Chief Tony Ofoni as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) concensus candidate for the Uvwie Local Government Council chairmanship contest.
Àkasa who is the highest traditional chief in Uvwie Kingdom made the commendation in a media chat with our correspondent at the weekend.
He gladly noted that the choice of Chief Tony Ofoni was a welcome development.
Akasa who is the highest traditional chief in Uvwie Kingdom noted that Chief Ofoni hails from Uvwie Ugbomro Ward 7, just as he noted that the said ward has never produced an Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council.
Akasa therefore emphasized that the choice of Chief Tony Ofoni was based on the policy of rotation, which according to him was applied in Uvwie Kingdom in appointment of traditional chieftaincy positions.
“The policy gives a sense of belonging and also guarantees unity, peace and progress,” he added.
