Akpowowo Commends DSIEC, Oborevwori; Congratulates Ogedegbe, Others

The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission conducted the Delta State local government council polls on July 13th, 2024 across the 25 local government areas and various wards to elect Chairmen of councils and Councilors.

Following the success, the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Olorogun) Arthur Akpowowo Esq., commended the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission for their professionalism and excellent services during the period and election proper, saying this is the most adjudged well coordinated, freest and most peaceful election conducted by DSIEC.

Rt. Hon. (Olorogun) Akpowowo also commended the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori for the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in Delta State, and during the election.

“The Governor must be commended from the constitution of the electoral body, prompt release of funds, constant voters education through the State Orientation Bureau and providing security. It is pure hogwash for the opposition to ascribe this election with irregularities. PDP Delta State through His Excellency Rt. Hon (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori has changed the narrative, with massive projects, social security (women, youth, artisan, widows and those living with disabilities empowerment). The fortune of the opposition parties was dwindled by the mass exodus of its members after being convinced that the M.O.R.E AGENDA of our dear governor is not just a political statement but action/work on progress and no progressive mind will see development, light and choose to follow darkness. This is the part Deltans has chosen to tow.”

The Deputy Speaker, used the medium to congratulate the Chairman-elect of Ethiope East local government council, His primary constituency Chief Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe JP on his electoral victory at the pools and subsequently reminded all the good people of Ethiope East to support his government.

The former commissioner for Urban Renewal in the state congratulated other PDP chairmen-elect across the 25 local government areas of the state.
