Groups To Empower Uvwie Female Youths For Societal Relevance

In a move to position the people of Uvwie Kingdom at the forefront of sustainable development and national relevance, Jobberman Value Offshore and Global Resources in partnership with Master Card Foundation have initiated a training/mentorship program aimed at empowering not less than 1, 200 female youths in Uvwie Local Government Area.
The Unuevworo of Uvwie Kingdom, High Chief Hope Akasa (JP) inaugurated the program with the attendance of over 300 participants on behalf of HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom at Uvwie Hall along Petroleum Training Institute PTI Road on Tuesday 13th August, 2024
Chief Abraham Ejedegba, an engineer who stood in for High Chief Hope Akasa in his key note address at the epoch making event, enjoined the female trainees to make good use of the opportunity of ‘ entrepreneurial hands – on ‘so as to be relevant to themselves, their families, their communities and the society at large.

Ejedegba who bears the title of Egbe R ‘ Uvwie Kingdom , also said that having a genuine source of generating personal income would keep their minds from participating or aiding the collection of illegal levies popularly known as “deve” in addition to sustaining the peace being enjoyed by Uvwie Kingdom as was fought for by the Uvwie monarch.
The Delta State Head of Jobberman/Valueshore Woman Empowerment Program, an NGO, Mr Roi Ndidi said that the training and mentorship would continue on-line while the co-ordinator/organizer of the Women Empowerment Program in Uvwie, Mr Stephen Njomoh of the Association of the Coaster Waterways, Uvwie Chapter, in a statement explained the initiative will cultivate a new generation of empowered and responsible citizens dedicated to the transformation in Uvwie Kingdom and Delta State in general.
A participant, Mrs Precious Ogheneruona Uduebor-Iboje, appreciated Uvwie Kingdom and the organizers for accepting non indegenes resident in Uvwie LGA, to participate.
She expressed optimism that she will contribute to assist the Uvwie Kingdom that was known for hospitality for non indigenes.
