Egbo, Ajede Congratulate Newly Elected Delta PDP Executive, Call For Unity

The Executive chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun Jaro Egbo and his counterpart in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Barr. Possible Ajede have extended their congratulations to the newly elected executive of the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Chief Solomon Arenyeka.

In their separate remarks, they both expressed confidence in the capacity of the new executive to take the party in the state to the next level.

In a statement personally signed, Egbo expressed optimism, saying the new leadership plays a critical role in steering the party towards greater success and effectiveness in the coming years.

He commended the outgoing executive led by Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, for their commitment and dedication to the party in the past years.

The Ughelli council boss emphasized that the newly elected executive reflects the trust and confidence the party members have in their abilities, just as he encouraged them to work collaboratively, prioritize inclusivity, and focus on strategies that will address the concerns of party members.

Furthermore, he lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his uncommon input in seeing to the smooth transition.

“I have no doubt that 2027 will be a walk over for PDP in Delta,” he said.

Meanwhile, on his part, Ajede said the successful congress had again proven that the PDP is the only formidable party in Delta, saying Delta is PDP.

Ajede who spoke to Oasis Magazine in a phone conversation on Saturday night, hinted that the party is a big family, saying the election was done free, fair and credible contrary to some claims.

In his words, “The PDP party is like a moving train and if you are sleeping, anytime you wake up, you join the train. So we are moving and it is a demonstration of the structure we have on ground here. The people who were in that field are not from Kwara state or Gombe, they are Deltans who believe in the party and they are just delegates who went there, who are party members.”

He said the PDP family is excited because of the achievements of the governor, adding that 2027 is going to be a smooth ride for PDP.

According to him, under the present Oborevwori’s leadership of Delta PDP, he is not running a one-sided party. He is carrying everyone along.

“He is a very respectful and humble leader and I know that he is not a leader that will say let us throw people away now that he is at the helm of affairs,” the council boss said, just as he called on the new party excos to put on the character of Christ.

“My advice to them is that they should see how they can also move back and push back to all wards in the state to see how we can bring in new members. There should be massive membership drive so that our brothers, who are already in Egypt, can be brought back to the party. It is important important we remind our people who have benefited from the party not to abandon the party that have contributed massively to their well being, their interest now should be how to see how we can rebuild the party and nothing more.”

He continued: “APC has failed us so those other people who for one reasons or the other do not know how to activate the process of coming back to the party after leaving, should be brought back. Those our brothers who are standing on the fence, they should push them into the party. So, the first thing they have to do in my thinking is a massive membership drive across all wards”.

At the Congress held at the Cenotaph in Asaba, Chief Solomon Arenyeka was elected State Chairman, with Mr. Moses Iduh as Deputy Chairman.

Other elected officials include; Engr. Daniel Ossai (Vice Chairman, Delta North Senatorial District), Hon. Anthony Akpomiemie (Vice Chairman, Delta Central Senatorial District), Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba (Vice Chairman, Delta South Senatorial District), Chief Isaac Itebu (Secretary), Chief Chibuzor Uwajei (State Treasurer), Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe (Financial Secretary), Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu (Publicity Secretary), Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor (Organizing Secretary), Barr. Hessington Okolo (State Legal Adviser), Chief Mrs. Dora Sakpaide (State Woman Leader), Barr. Francis Okolie (State Youth Leader), and Pastor Alex Akemotubo (State Auditor), amongst others.
