Ethiope East PDP Caucus Meets, Says LGA Will Produce Next HoRs Member

The leadership caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Ethiope East Local Government on Thursday met and resolved that the constituency will produce the next House of Representatives member.

The caucus also known as PDP Ethiope East College Of Leaders met on Thursday at the Eku residence of Chief Ighosotu Bernard Edewor.

The leaders also resolved that the Ethiope East Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party is 100% in support of His Excellency, Rt Hon sheriff F O Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State.

According to the resolutions made available to media houses, Ethiope East Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party is united, peaceful and unperturbed with recent developments.

The continued: “That the Ethiope East Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party is aware of the few people who recently defected and wish them well.

Meanwhile, the party in the area directed the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ethiope East, Hon Iboyitete Midwest to set up a three man advisory committee to advise the leadership of the Party in the Local Government going forward.

Adding: “That those who decamped and until their defection were holding any position in the Party or an appointment are advised to resign with immediate effect and if otherwise, the Ward Chairmen of the 11 Wards are to effect their replacements immediately.

“That since the creation of the Ethiope Federal Constituency which comprises Ethiope East and Ethiope West Local Government,the Ethiope West Local Government has produced the Representative of the Federal House of Representatives for a record 20 years; Hon Halima Ochuko Agoda 1999-2011(Three Terms of 12years),Hon Ben Igbakpa 2019-2023(One Term of 4years),Hon Eriatake Ibori Suenu(2023-incumbent). While Ethiope East local Government which is the largest and most populous among the Two Local Government of the Federal Constituency has only produced just two Representatives; Hon Barr Akpodiogaga Sunny Emeyese 2011-2015(One Term of 4years) and Hon Barr Loveth Idisi 2015-2019(One Term of 4years) which all together is eight (8) As such, Ethiope East Local Government has decided unanimously that come 2027,The Member representing The Federal Constituency must be from Ethiope East Local Government, for equity and fairness sake.”

Furthermore, the Leadership of the party in Ethiope East Local Government now passed a Vote of Confidence on Governor Oborevwori “for his great and laudable achievements in the Last 18 months as Governor.”

They vowed that the leadership of the party in Ethiope East Local Government will continue to ensure that the area remain a PDP stronghold in the state.

This resolution was signed by Rt Hon Olorogun Barr Arthur Akpowowo, Deputy Speaker Delta State House of Assembly, Prof Nyerovwo Tonukari, Honorable Commissioner For Higher Education, Chief Onoriode Sunday, Delta State Director of Protocol, Hon Chief Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe, Executive Chairman Ethiope East Local Government, Chief Bernard Ighosotu Edewor, PDP Leader, Ethiope East Local Government and Hon Iboyitete Midwest,Chairman, PDP Ethiope East.

Others include LGA leaders present, all LGA Excos, all Ward Chairmen and all Ward Leaders.

At the time of this report, Oasis Magazine learnt that the Chairman of the Party in the Local Government, Hon Iboyitete Midwest is set to constitute a disciplinary committee to look into all those who are involved in anti Party activities in the area.
