National Union Of Urhobo Students Visits Ovbije, Pledge Support

The National Union of Urhobo Students (NUUS), led by HRM (Comrade) Onagba Freedom and his executive members have paid a courtesy visit to the DESOPADEC commissioner representing the people of Ughelli North, Ethiope East and Urhobos in Patani Local Government Area, Hon. Sylvester Ovbije in his office today in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

However, the aim of the courtesy visit according to Comrade Onagba Freedom otherwise known as the Ajuwe was to congratulate the honourable commissioner over his good work he has been doing across his mandate area in promoting the M.O.R.E agenda of His Excellency Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in moving Delta State to greater height.

According to Freedom, “we are here today specifically to commend you over the laudable projects you have been executing across your mandate area, as a DESOPADEC commissioner if you can be doing all these projects in your area of concern, by the time you get elected into any of this elective positions, you will do more”

“And on behalf of my executive members, we commend Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for appointing you as DESOPADEC commissioner, adding that your appointment is a well deserve one which you have been using in showcasing and contributing to the M.O.R.E agenda of our amiable Governor,” he stated.

In his address, the Ajuwe posited that they have a proposal to engage all categories of Urhobo Students in the eight Local Government Areas and its environs, noting that the skill Acquisitions will be on Graphic design, Speaking and writing of Urhobo language and soup competition, to be organized for Urhobo indigenes, in order to practice and learn how to make native soups.

He said these various activities would be showcased during the Urhobo Cultural Day to be organized by the National Union Of Urhobo Students in partnership with the DESOPADEC Board.

He also assured the Honourable Commissioner that if sponsored, they would give scholarships to learners; visiting schools to distribute books and other writing/learning materials, to enable the students learn effectively.

On his part, Hon. Sylvester Ovbije who appreciated them for the visit and advised the students to as well visit other Urhobo personalities to present their demands assuring them of his support to promote the M.O.R.E Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
