Cultural Day Celebration: Be Mindful Of Your Company, Okorodudu Charges Students

BY ELOHOR FOGHOLA
As the students of Ekpan Secondary School held its 2025 Cultural Day, the Executive Director of Project in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu has charged the students to be mindful of the company they keep as they are the future.
Dr. Okorodudu gave this charge today at the 2025 Cultural Day of Ekpan Secondary School, Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.
The Cultural Day had students from seven ethnic nationalities across Nigeria display their various cultures, food, languages, dances, and clothes.
Chief Okorodudu, commended the principal, Mrs. Dafe Afabor, the management, and the staff of the school for imparting an all-around education in the children, which culminated in their excellent cultural performance.
He applauded the student for their exceptional presentation especially in speaking their language stating that “culture is a part of education that enriches the educational progress of any institution.”
“Language also plays an important part of a culture, ones it is lost the culture of the people is lost”
He also commended the students for submitting themselves to learning, particularly in these times when students are no longer interested in education but view school as a scam.
He, however, enjoined the students to be mindful of the company they keep as they progress in their educational pursuits.
Dr. Okorodudu expressed concern about the poor level of parenting in society, urging parents to perform their parental responsibilities by educating and disciplining their children, as they are the future.
