Delta APC Crisis: NWC Must Act Now To Restore Order

The lingering leadership tussle in Delta State APC is fast becoming a major threat to the party’s cohesion and future electoral chances. The infighting by the leaders, worsened by factional media attacks, has created a toxic atmosphere that not only weakens party structures but also emboldens the opposition. This situation demands urgent intervention from the National Working Committee (NWC) before it spirals out of control.

To restore order and unity, the NWC must summon all perceived party leaders across the various camps, engage them in frank discussions, and make a clear-cut decision on who should lead the party in the state. This decision should be binding on all, with strict warnings or sanctions placed on any individual or group that attempts to defy the directive. The era of parallel structures, conflicting loyalties, and open defiance of party authority must come to an end.

Furthermore, the reckless media attacks by different factions must stop immediately. The constant insults and character assassination of party leaders serve no purpose other than deepening divisions and damaging the APC’s reputation. Moving forward, all media handlers must align their messaging with the official party position, promoting unity and focusing on strengthening APC’s presence in Delta State rather than tearing it apart from within.

If this crisis is not decisively addressed, it risks weakening the party ahead of crucial elections. The time for half-measures is over; the NWC must act firmly and decisively to put the Delta State APC in order. The party’s success depends on its unity, and only a strong, disciplined structure can deliver victory.
