NOA Partners NUPENG On Nationwide Campaign Against Fuel Scooping
The National Orientation Agency has partners with the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers in Lagos to intensify its nationwide sensitization campaign against fuel scooping from overturned tankers.
The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, emphasised the need for a shift in public mentality, suggested that beyond awareness campaigns, it was crucial to instill a sense of responsibility within communities to prevent the practice of scooping fuel from crashed tankers.
He noted that NOA has been proactive in implementing President Bola Tinubu’s directive by launching a nationwide sensitisation campaign against fuel scooping from overturned tankers.

To further achieve more success on this, the agency said it had produced over 76 jingles in various Nigerian local languages, broadcasting them on 198 radio stations nationwide to educate Nigerians on the risks associated with this hazardous practice.
Reiterating the values embedded in NOA’s National Values Charter, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu also implored Nigerians to embrace the values of integrity, patriotism, selflessness, and a sense of duty to the nation.
