Sapele NUJ Honours Bright Abeke With Grand Patron Title

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sapele Correspondents Chapel, in collaboration with the Sapele Local Government Council, has conferred the prestigious title of Grand Patron on Hon. Bright Abeke, Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council.

The conferment ceremony took place during a one-day capacity building workshop organised by the NUJ and the council at the council secretariat.

The event was attended by prominent personalities in journalism and political spheres.

Abeke, who was represented by the Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Mrs. Dora Aweto, expressed his delight at being conferred with the esteemed title.

He praised the NUJ for recognizing his efforts and promised to continue supporting the union in its endeavours.

In his remarks, Abeke emphasized the importance of integrity in journalism, urging media practitioners to always verify their stories before publication.

He pledged to continue working with the NUJ to promote responsible journalism and support the growth of the media industry in Sapele and its environs.

The Chairman of the NUJ, Sapele Correspondents Chapel, Comrade Nelson Agbajor, highlighted Abeke’s unwavering support for the union, citing his commitment to promoting responsible journalism in Sapele and across the state.

Agbajor emphasized that the title of Grand Patron was a fact to Abeke’s dedication to the growth and development of journalism in Sapele and Delta State at large.
