Nollywood Mourns As Actress Nkechi Nweje Passes On After Illness
Nollywood is in sorrow following the confirmation of actress Nkechi Nweje’s death by producer, Stanley Ontop, on Friday, March 21.
Before his post, there were already online reports about her passing.
He called Nweje his best friend and stated that she had died after a brief illness.
Stanley mentioned that he had known about her passing for several hours but found it difficult to come to terms with it, feeling as if it were a dream.
He described Nweje as his best friend and revealed that she passed away after a short illness.

He also mentioned that their last conversation occurred during a social media exchange involving Queeneth Hilbert and actress Destiny Etiko.
Sharing pictures of Nkechi Nweje on his page, Stanley Ontop wrote, “Nollywood in tears as we lost one of our vibrant Nollywood actress @nkechi.nweje After a brief illness. Couldn’t post since morning because it was like a dream to me. Ezigbo Nwanyi Onitsha Rest in peace ma’am, my best friend, she always call me on phone advising me. The last time we spoke was during Queenth saga, she said Ontop stop. Am still speechless.”
