Nollywood Mourns As Solomon Akiyesi Dies In His Sleep
The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of veteran Nollywood actor and producer Solomon Akiyesi, who reportedly passed away in his sleep.
The sad news was confirmed on Monday by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Abubakar Yakubu, who disclosed that the actor died on Sunday after going to bed and not waking up.
According to Yakubu, Akiyesi’s body has been deposited at a mortuary in Abuja, while the guild awaits further details from his family concerning the circumstances surrounding his passing.
“Yes, it is true. He died yesterday. Slept and did not wake up from sleep. We await further details from the family. His body is in the morgue in Abuja where the sad incident happened,” Yakubu said.
Known for his roles in several Nollywood productions, Akiyesi built a reputation as a talented actor, director, and entrepreneur over the years. His contributions to the Nigerian movie industry earned him admiration from colleagues and fans alike.
