NERC Sanctions 8 DISCOs For Over Billing Of Unmetered Customers

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission NERC has sanctioned eight distribution companies for failing to comply with monthly energy caps for unmetered customers between July and September 2024.
Those affected are Abuja, Eko, Enugu, Ikeja, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, and Yola distribution companies.

They are to pay more than six hundred and twenty eight million naira as fine and must issue credit adjustments to affected customers by May 15, 2025.
NERC says it remains committed to regulatory compliance and consumer protection in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
