You’re A Titan Of Niger Delta Struggle, Omo-Agege Tells Orubebe At 66

Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has described Elder Godsday Orubebe as a titan of the Niger Delta in the struggle for equity and a fair federation.
In a message to the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs on his 66th birthday, Senator Omo-Agege said Orubebe used his office to fight vigorously for the enthronement of fairness for the oil producing region.
Recalling that the former minister was the chairman of his campaign organisation during his run for Delta governorship, Senator Omo-Agege said that despite the harassment and intimidation he was subjected to, Orubebe’s “doggedness and steadfastness were pivotal” in securing for the All Progressives Congress (APC) an unprecedented performance in the state.

Omo-Agege’s personal birthday message to Elder Orubebe read: “I am truly delighted and thankful to God for His grace upon your life. For a man who has been in the frontline for the enthronement of fairness, a fair federation and justice for the Niger Delta, you have distinguished yourself as a titan of the struggle.
“In the process, reactionary forces contrived to use state machinery to harass you and frame you up for alleged infractions you never committed. In all the attacks, you never wavered or wilted to intimidation.
“In the fight to liberate Delta State from years of unmitigated ruination, yet again, you stood firm and stayed course with the Progressives movement.
“As the Director General of my Campaign Organisation for the 2023 Governorship Election, you electrified the exercise with your dexterity and thorough planning. It was no surprise that we won two of the three Senatorial seats which eventually became a clean sweep after the PDP collapsed into our party. I dare say that together with you, we set the stage for the inevitable collapse of the PDP in Delta State.
“You campaigned and fought assiduously, despite the odds stacked against us. What was seen as the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) unprecedented showing in 2023 gubernatorial, National Assembly and House of Assembly elections and eventual fall of PDP vindicated our foresight. Your doggedness and steadfastness were pivotal.
“On this special occasion of your 66th birthday, I celebrate you and all you have done for our people and our country.
Happy birthday, my dear brother, and may your light continue to shine for our younger generation to see the path to genuine progress.”
