DTSG Conducts State Final Of Science Competition, Project Exhibition In Asaba

The Delta State Government has organized the state final of the 2025 Science Competition and Project Exhibition in Asaba, the State Capital for junior and senior secondary school students who were successful from the zonal stage of the competition.
Speaking to journalists on behalf of the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, the Director of Science Education in the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Hope Igumbor said that the state final of the science competition and exhibition for the junior secondary category was for only those that scored 112 marks and above at the zonal stage.
Ezewu also stated that the state final for the senior secondary was designed for the students, who scored minimum of 145 marks and above at the zonal level of the competition and exhibition.
She noted that the project topic for the junior secondary category was to use syringes and tubing to create a simple hydraulic lift or crane while the project topic for the senior secondary category was to design and construct a baking oven .
The Education Commissioner listed subjects the candidates in junior were examined to include Basic Science and Technology , adding that the senior category was tested in Biology, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Ezewu stated that the best three candidates in each of the categories would be selected for prize/award presentation on a date that would be communicated to them in due course.

She said that the essence of the competition and exhibition was to encourage students to pick interest in science subjects and development of technologies for the benefits of mankind.
It could be recalled that the designated centres for the zonal stage were Asaba, Warri and Ughelli.
