Hon. Ogedegbe Wins 2025 Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award

Hon. Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe, JP, Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, has been officially announced as one of the winners of the Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award (LOGMA 2025).

The recognition was conveyed in a letter from the Panel of Judges and Nomination Committee of LOGMA, who unanimously selected Hon. Ogedegbe after rigorous assessment of reports from field officers, public opinion polls, and extensive nominations across broadcast and print media.

According to the committee, Hon. Ogedegbe’s outstanding contributions in roads and rural integration, grassroots development, and transparent governance distinguished him from among many of his peers.

His leadership was described as “accountable, people-centered, and responsive to the socio-economic challenges confronting the country.”

The award comes with national recognition and will feature mouthwatering prizes to be presented at the grand conferment ceremony.

Dignitaries expected at the event include the Honorable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, as Special Guest of Honour, and Senator Yaroe Binos Dauda, Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government Affairs, as Chairman of the Occasion.

Speaking on the award, the Editor-in-Chief and Project Coordinator, Chief Bayode Ojo ANIPR, congratulated Hon. Ogedegbe for his exceptional service delivery and positive impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

The 24th edition of LOGMA, as published in The Nation Newspaper of August 19, 2025, listed Hon. Ogedegbe among the top-performing council chairmen nationwide, emphasizing his dedication to grassroots transformation.

With this recognition, Hon. Augustine Ogedegbe joins the ranks of local government leaders celebrated for exemplary leadership, accountability, and sustainable community impact.

Hon. Ogedegbe extended his heartfelt appreciation to the good people of Ethiope East and all supporters across the country who voted and stood firmly by his administration.

He described the award as a victory not for him alone, but for the entire people of Ethiope East, whose trust and collective effort continue to inspire his leadership.
