Egbo: Through Resilience, Faith Nigeria Has Remained A Strong, Prosperous Nation

By Daniel Dafe

The Executive Chairman, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo Ksc, has said that “through resilience and faith Nigeria has remained a strong and prosperous nation” despite the trials, economic challenges, security concerns and social imbalances.

He said this while delivering his address during the 65th independence anniversary celebration, held at the Ughelli public field, on Wednesday, 1st October, 2025.

Olorogun Egbo added: “It is with profound joy and gratitude to Almighty God that I address you today on this momentous occasion of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. On this day, sixty-five years ago, our great nation broke free from colonial rule and hoisted the green-white-green flag of freedom, unity, and hope. Since then, Nigeria has continued to evolve as a sovereign nation, navigating challenges, celebrating triumphs, and striving towards greatness in the comity of nations.”

As the nation marks the 65th Independence Anniversary, he urged residents in the area to remember that “true independence is measured not only by freedom from colonial rule but also by freedom from poverty, ignorance, insecurity, and disunity.”

He said further: “It is a collective duty to promote peace, respect our diversity, uphold justice and contribute our quota to national growth,” just as he urged all citizens and residents of Ughelli North to remain law abiding, industrious, and united. Together, we can build a cleaner, safer and stronger Local Government that will serve as a shining example within Delta State and Nigeria at large.”

Furthermore, he also commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, security agencies, civil society, and every patriotic Nigerian who continue to defend and uphold the unity of the nation.
