Train-The-Trainers Summit Storms Asaba, Warri, Ignites Push For Nigeria’s Next Generation Of Leaders

Delta State played host to one of the most impactful child-development events of the year as the Duke’s Infant & Children Foundation successfully concluded the Asaba and Warri editions of its Train-the-Trainers Summit — a transformative initiative designed to empower parents, educators, and community leaders with practical tools for raising confident, values-driven, and leadership-ready children.

The summit held on the 15th of November in Asaba at the Southend Event Centre and on the 16th of November in Warri at the Monarchy Event Centre, drawing an impressive lineup of respected experts along with enthusiastic participants from across the state.

The First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, set the tone for the summit with a compelling charge on the need for intentional parenting and value-based upbringing. She emphasized that the strength of Nigeria’s future rests on the influence and training given to today’s children.

Supporting this vision, the Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Ashibogwu Nze Kingsley, reiterated the urgent need for stronger collaboration between homes, schools, and communities to build children who are not only academically sound but emotionally resilient and morally grounded.

The Train-the-Trainers Summit featured a wide range of influential voices across parenting, education, youth development, and child protection, including:

Their sessions collectively addressed emotional intelligence, discipline, digital safety, gender-focused mentorship, values reorientation, and community-driven support systems for raising thriving children

The Duke’s Infant & Children Foundation announced plans to expand the Train-the-Trainers Summit to additional zones across Nigeria. This long-term vision aims to build a nationwide network of empowered parents, guardians, and educators equipped with modern developmental strategies and grounded in timeless family values.

Participants described the summit as transformative, timely, and inspiring, noting that the knowledge shared has already begun to ignite positive change in homes, classrooms, and communities.

Anchored by the theme “Empowering Our Generation NEXT Leaders: Raising Children to Thrive and Lead,” the summit underscored the foundation’s mission to raise a generation of children who are confident, emotionally balanced, value-driven, and prepared for leadership.

Asaba and Warri may have hosted the first wave of this movement, but the ripple effect is expected to spread nationwide, shaping the future of parenting and child development in Nigeria.
