A Quarter-Century Of Love And Impact: Professor And Mrs. Jonathan Tsetimi Set To Celebrate Silver Jubilee In Abraka
ABRAKA, NIGERIA – March 7, 2026, will mark a significant milestone for one of Delta State’s exemplary couples, as Professor Jonathan Tsetimi and his wife, Mrs. Ome Tsetimi, celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary.
The Silver Jubilee celebration is not only a tribute to their enduring partnership but also a spotlight on two individuals who have profoundly shaped their respective fields. Both alumni of the prestigious University of Benin (UNIBEN), the Tsetimis have spent the last two and a half decades building a legacy of academic excellence and community empowerment.
Academic and Global Leadership
Professor Jonathan Tsetimi is a renowned figure in the academic community, currently serving as the Director of the Centre for International Collaboration and Linkages at Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka. A Professor of Industrial Mathematics and a pioneer in Artificial Intelligence research, he also holds the position of Vice President (South-South) for the National Association of Artificial Intelligence Practitioners (NAAIP). His work has been instrumental in positioning DELSU as a hub for international partnerships and digital innovation.
Grassroots Empowerment and Agriculture
Matching her husband’s academic strides with entrepreneurial impact, Mrs. Ome Tsetimi has emerged as a titan in the agricultural sector. As the Managing Director of Wimi Poultry Farms, she is recognized as a successful poultry farmer and a vital poultry business incubator. Through partnerships with international organizations like IFAD/LIFE-ND, she has trained and empowered numerous rural dwellers in Delta State, providing them with the tools and mentorship to escape poverty through sustainable farming.
A Celebration of Legacy
The President of NAAIP, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, the former vice chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, in a congratulatory message, described their union as a “beautiful testimony to patience, understanding, and faith.” He noted that the couple has built more than just a home; they have established a “legacy of love” that continues to inspire colleagues and students alike.
