DELSU Senate Honours Ethiope East Council Chairman, Ogedegbe

The Senate of Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) has conferred a special honour on the Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe JP, in recognition of his outstanding service, unwavering support, and significant contributions to the welfare, growth, and development of students of the institution, particularly the Supreme Students’ Senate (SSS) and the Students’ Union Government (SUG).

The DELSU Senate delegation was led by the Senate President, Sen. Ebireri Oghenemarho Faith, the first female Senate President in the history of the institution.

She was accompanied by the Senator representing the Faculty of Science, Sen. Edoja Chinedu Nelson, and the President of the Faculty of Media and Communications, Comr. Anthony Jenifer Nkonye.

While receiving the award, Hon. Ogedegbe expressed deep appreciation to the group for the honour, noting that it reflects his continued commitment to prioritizing initiatives that support students and youth development across Ethiope East and beyond.

He thanked the Senate for finding him worthy of such recognition and dedicated the award to God Almighty and the good people of Ethiope East Local Government Area, whom he described as his source of strength and motivation.

Hon. Ogedegbe further encouraged the student leaders to remain focused on programmes and activities that promote the welfare, academic advancement, and overall well-being of students within the institution. He reaffirmed his readiness to continue partnering with DELSU students in areas that foster meaningful development and positive impact.
