“Osanebi December Rain” Giveaway Suspended, As Gunmen Kill Ugo Otuya

The annual “Osanebi December Rain” giveaway sponsored by a former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi, has been suspended, following the death of Mr. Ugo Otuya.
The announcement was made by Idi Presley Ifeanyichukwu, Principal Secretary to Osanebi, in a statement on Friday.
He said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the suspension of our “Osanebi December Rain” giveaway, a festive initiative aimed at spreading joy and cheer during this holiday season. Yesterday, we lost one of our own, Mr. Ugo Otuya, who was tragically shot by yet to be identified gumen in Kwale.”
He added: “This senseless loss has left us shaken and heartbroken. As we mourn the passing of our dear brother, we cannot in good conscience continue with the festivities. The “Osanebi December Rain” giveaway is hereby suspended until further notice.
“We have always advocated for peace and calm in our community, and it’s tragic that this incident has occurred. The loss of Ugo Otuya is a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment.”

He described Ugo as “a man of peace, cheerful and full of life,” saying that “everyone who had the privilege of being around him can testify to his free spirit,” just as he said that they are in a state of shock and wondering what the motivation of the shooter was.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing to us all.
“We appreciate the understanding and support of our followers and well-wishers.
“May peace and calm reign in our community,” he concluded.
