Sunny Areh Loses Younger Brother

Reverend Emmanuel Emuobosa Areh, a priest in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has passed on, aged 60.

He was the immediate younger brother of veteran journalist, Sunny Areh.

A brief statement by the family announcing the death reads: “It is with heavy hearts and deep pains but with gratitude and total submission to the will of God Almighty, that we announce the passing of Reverend Emmanuel Emuobosa Areh, a priest in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, at the age of 60

“The good Lord called him back to Himself at about 4:05 pm Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Central Hospital Warri.

Married with three children, Reverend Emmanuel Areh was a University of Ilorin trained Biochemist and academician.

“He will be laid to final rest on Saturday, December 20, after a funeral service at Christ Anglican Church, Ozoro.”
