Awhefeada: The Countdown Continues
The academic community of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, is in anticipation as the countdown continues to the 117th Inaugural Lecture of the University, scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The lecture will be delivered by the Dean of the Postgraduate School, Prof. Sunny Ijirhevwe Awhefeada, a distinguished scholar of African and Nigerian literature. Titled “The Literature of Our State: An Evolutionary Engagement with Modern Nigerian Literature,” the lecture is expected to offer deep and engaging reflections on literary development and cultural identity.

The event will hold at the 750A Lecture Theatre, Site III, under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, with guests expected to be seated by 10:30 a.m.
As the date draws closer, excitement continues to build for what promises to be a landmark intellectual engagement in DELSU, Abraka.
