Uvwie Monarch Confers Chieftaincy Titles On Christopher Agbatutu, Younger Brother

It was a glorious day for the Agbatutu Family as their two United Kingdom based industrious sons, Christopher and Gregory bagged chieftaincy titles from HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom on Saturday 7th February, 2026.

The eldest, Christopher was honoured with the exalted title of ‘ Ame’ ( water ) of Uvwie Kingdom while his younger brother, Gregory was honoured with the prestigious title of ‘ Oghoghome ‘ ( my happiness) of Uvwie Kingdom.
The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom in his speech shortly before the chieftaincy conferment , noted that it is the contributions of the Agbatutu brothers to the development of Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU) United Kingdom branch and Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) United Kingdom branch that earned them the honour.

The highly esteemed Uvwie monarch however urged the new Uvwie chiefs not to rest on their oars.

The Ame of Uvwie Kingdom, Chief Christopher Ufuoma Agbatutu and his younger brother, the Oghoghome of Uvwie Kingdom, Chief Gregory Ejiroghene Agbatutu who spoke to our correspondent shortly after the chieftaincy conferment in separate media chats, appreciated the Uvwie monarch for the honour, as they promised that it will spur them to do more for Uvwie Kingdom and to humanity.

Their elated mother, Chief ( Mrs ) Anastasia Onisuru Agbatutu, a respected Uvwie chief who also spoke to our correspondent was full of appreciation to the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom for the honour done to the Agbatutus.

“Today is one of our happiest day. My husband and I are glad that our children have reached this level . We give the glory to God,” she said.

The renowned educationist cum counsellor, however counseled that her children should keep on with their good works as she added “that hard work and commitment are required.”
