Comrade Udoro Declares Bid For Ughelli South House Of Assembly Seat

A political aspirant, Comrade Charles Ogheneruro Udoro from Jeremi Ward 4, Otor-Owahawa Clan, has declared his intention to contest for the Ughelli South Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly, urging residents to embrace unity and collective progress.

In a message addressed to the people of Ughelli South, Udoro said he stands as “one of the people,” pledging to represent the constituency with sincerity and purpose if given the mandate.

He lamented what he described as years of poor representation, alleging that successive lawmakers have failed to translate promises into tangible development for the people.

According to him, primary healthcare centres across the constituency remain under-equipped, while schools continue to suffer infrastructural decay. He also expressed concern over rising youth unemployment, noting that many young people are left without opportunities despite the region’s potential.

Udoro described himself as “a comrade rather than a politician of noise,” promising to be a strong voice for the people if elected.

He called for unity among the various communities in Ughelli South, including Ughievwen, Olomu, Ewu, Effurun-Otor, Okparabe, and Arhavwarien, stressing that their challenges are shared and their future interconnected.

“Let us put aside clan divisions. Our problems are the same, our future is one,” he stated.

Beyond politics, Udoro highlighted his academic and leadership background, noting that he previously served as Financial Secretary and later President of the Faculty of Arts Students Association at Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, where he was known for transparency and discipline.

He also disclosed that he is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy at DELSU, specializing in Socio-Political Philosophy, adding that his academic pursuit is driven by a deep interest in governance, ethics, and human development.

Udoro concluded with a call for collective responsibility, urging residents to support a vision of development that benefits farmers, parents, and youths across Ughelli South.

“God bless Otor-Owahawa Clan. God bless Ughelli South Constituency,” he said.
